1 loaf of high-quality Italian bread
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
6-8 cloves garlic, minced or finely grated
4 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped
4 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (for extra garlic flavor)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the 2 sticks of softened butter, 6-8 minced garlic cloves, 4 tablespoons of fresh basil, 4 tablespoons of fresh parsley, 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on both halves of the bread, making sure to cover the entire surface.
- Place the bread halves on the prepared baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and crispy around the edges.
