Best Homemade Pizza

This go-to pizza recipe combines speed and taste, making it the perfect choice for those busy evenings when you crave a satisfying meal without the fuss. The secret to its speed lies in using store-bought dough, allowing you to enjoy the convenience without compromising on taste. Stretching out the dough is not as daunting as it seems.

Choose any toppings to customize your pizza to perfection. From classic Margherita to adventurous combinations bursting with flavors, the possibilities are endless. I typically love a vegetable pizza with onions, peppers, olives, and mushrooms. I also enjoy sun-dried tomatoes, pineapple, and ham as toppings.

Quick Tip: The longer you let the dough sit outside, the easier it is to stretch it out.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of store-bought pizza dough

  • 1-2 tablespoons of flour

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3/4 cup of pasta sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese (I like Mexican blend)

  • 2 cups of toppings (peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, etc.)

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese

  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning or oregano

Directions

  • Preheat over to 450 F. Sprinkle flour on the dough ball. Stretch and roll out the dough to desired size and thickness (I aim for under 1/4 inch thick). For easy cleanup, stretch the dough on parchment paper.
  • Bake plain pizza crust for 8 minutes.
  • Flip the crust over once taken out of oven (ensures perfect crispness). Preheat oven to 500 F.
  • Brush 1 tablespoon of olive oil on the pizza crust. Brush 3/4 cup of pasta sauce. Optional: sprinkle 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning or oregano over pasta sauce.
  • Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of cheese on crust. Decorate pizza with desired toppings. Optional: sprinkle a little salt on top and 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in 500 F oven for 8-10 minutes.
