Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies are a staple dessert. My version of this classic uses two types of chocolate chips for an elevated flavor. I highly recommend letting the dough sit for 30 minutes in the fridge to get the best flavor profile.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375F.
  • Combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small bowl. Beat 1/2 cup of butter, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until creamy. Add 1 egg. Slowly stir in flour mixture. Mix in 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips.
  • Let dough chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Drop rounded tablespoon onto parchment paper lined baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and serve.
