Dosa

For the past few months, this Dosa has been my go-to breakfast. Its crispy, cheesy allure never fails to entice my taste buds, offering a delicious start to my day in just 15 short minutes. For many, my dosa isn’t “authentic” because I use store-bought batter. But, it is still so tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup store-bought dosa batter

  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or any of your favorite melting cheese)

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil

Directions

  • Spread one tablespoon of oil on a non-stick skillet.
  • Take a ladleful of the store-bought dosa batter and pour it onto the center of the cold skillet. Starting with a cold skillet is the trick to being able to spread the batter.
  • Using the back of the ladle, spread the batter evenly in a circular motion to form a thin layer. Let the dosa cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
  • Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of grated cheese evenly over the surface of the dosa. You can adjust the amount of cheese according to your preference. Cook until melted.
  • Continue cooking the dosa until the bottom is golden-brown and crisp. Then, carefully l fold it in half or roll it into a cylinder.
  • Transfer the cheesy dosa to a serving plate and serve hot with your favorite chutney, sambar, or sauce on the side.
  • Enjoy your delicious homemade cheese dosa as a delightful breakfast, snack, or light meal!
