minutesIngredients
2 slices of your favorite bread (such as white or whole wheat)
2-3 slices of your favorite cheese (Muenster or Cheddar are my favorites )
1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
1-2 tablespoons of butter
Directions
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- While the pan is heating, spread mayo on one side of each slice of bread. Make sure to spread the mayo evenly to the edges of the bread.
- Place one slice of bread, mayo side down, in the heated skillet.
- Add your cheese slices on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Top with the second slice of bread, mayo side up.
- Allow the sandwich to cook for about 4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is almost melted. Covering the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt more evenly.
- Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook the other side until it’s golden brown and the cheese is completely melted.
- Remove the grilled cheese from the skillet. Cut the sandwich in half diagonally, serve, and enjoy!
