Open Face Tuna Melt Sandwich
This is one of my go-to lunch meals. It’s quick, tasty, and healthy. Tuna is loaded with protein, so one slice of this is filling. The tuna mixture also stays well for a few days in the fridge, making it great for meal prep.
Feel free to customize your tuna melts by adding additional toppings such as sliced tomatoes, avocado, or pickles before air frying. You can also experiment with different types of bread and cheese to suit your preferences.

1/4 cup diced red onion (optional)
1/4 cup diced celery (optional)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices of bread
4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice) or 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese

- In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup of diced red onion, 1/4 cup of diced celery, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix well to combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
- Spread a layer of the tuna mixture onto four slices of bread. Place a slice of cheese on top of each tuna-covered bread slice.
- Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry the tuna melts for approximately 5-7 minutes or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- Serve the air fryer tuna melts hot and enjoy them as a delicious and satisfying meal or snack.
