Quick Tip: Be careful not to overbeat the cream, as it can become grainy or turn into butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of heavy cream

  • 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar or granulated sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)

  • 1 tablespoon of orange juice

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier, and 1 tablespoon of orange juice.
  • Using an electric mixer or whisk, beat the mixture on medium speed until stiff peaks begin to form. This should take a few minutes. This means that when you lift the beaters or whisk out of the mixture, the cream should hold its shape and not deflate. Or, if you flip the mixing bowl over, the mixture should not fall out.
  • Once you’ve achieved stiff peaks, your homemade orange-flavored whipped cream is ready to be used as a delicious topping for desserts. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
